THE INFO
We know you still have questions.
Below are typical questions I am asked by any new client. Feel free to message me, call (226-236-9548), or email (phill@meustherapy.ca) if I didn't answer your questions.
OFFICE AND HOURS FAQs
01 Who do you see?
MEUS Therapy offers psychotherapy services for men and couples. I focus on keeping therapy simple, flexible, and purposeful so you can get your life on track.

I accept clients as young as 10 years of age. I work best with guys who want to work through some stuff, and need someone to chat with it about - give them perspective, insight, and some ways to work through it.
02 How are we meeting?
MEUS Therapy is a fully virtual practice. All our sessions are online; you'll receive a link about an hour before the session. Typically, our meetings continue online unless we create a treatment plan that specifies in-person behavioural work.
03 What are your office hours?
As of September 1st, 2024, I am currently seeing clients:
Thursdays from 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday mornings from 8:00am - 12:00pm.
04 What is the best way to book an appointment?
The best way to book an appointment is through my online booking system HERE. Feel free to call or email if you have further questions or need help with booking.
Please note that I will only pick up the phone or respond to an email during office hours and if I am not with a client.
COSTS AND INSURANCE FAQs
01 How much does a session cost?
Individual sessions are $125 per hour, and couples sessions are $175 per hour. Sessions typically last 55 minutes.

You can extend sessions by 30-minute increments upon your request up to 48 hours before the scheduled session. Extensions for individuals cost $62.50 per 30 minutes. For couples, it's $87.50 per 30 minutes.
02 Do you take insurance?
Psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP. Typically, your workplace benefits package includes coverage for psychotherapy - most packages cover 25-80% of the cost.
Unfortunately, I do NOT offer direct billing at this time. You will pay out-of-pocket and submit a receipt to your insurance for reimbursement. After each appointment, you'll receive an emailed receipt.
I accept Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, Debit Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay
03 Do you offer a sliding scale rate?
I know therapy is pricey. Right now, I can't adjust the cost, but I can suggest some other options to make it easier on your wallet.

1) I see a limited number of clients through Family Service Kent, a local non-profit in Chatham, ON. They charge based on what you earn, so it's more flexible. Give them a call at 519-354-6221 and talk to the intake team. If I have a free space, they'll set you up with me.

2) I'm working on a app-based group therapy. You and a few guys (max. 4) would meet online twice a month with me, do some self assignments on the app, and support each other between meetings. As this is not one-on-one, the price will be more affordable for anyone to join in. If you're interested, fill out THIS FORM, and I'll get in touch when we're ready.
